Founder & Managing Director
Credentials: MBA, Cornell University; 20+ years in Asia-Pacific luxury hospitality (Aman Resorts, Four Seasons); Board Member, Juara Holding Group.
Bio: Budi’s vision is the driving force behind Banda Neira Luxury. After a distinguished career managing some of the world’s most iconic luxury properties, he returned to his Indonesian roots with a mission to create a truly world-class travel brand that celebrates the nation’s heritage. He splits his time between Jakarta and Banda, personally overseeing our commitment to service excellence and strategic partnerships.
Siti Rahayu
Head of Operations & Community Relations
Credentials: Certified Tour Manager, Himpunan Pramuwisata Indonesia (HPI); 25 years in Eastern Indonesia tourism logistics; Native of Ambon, Maluku.
Bio: Siti is the logistical heart of our operations. Born and raised in Maluku, her encyclopedic knowledge of the region and its communities is invaluable. She manages our on-the-ground teams, ensuring every transfer, activity, and accommodation meets our exacting standards. Her deep relationships with local families and officials are key to providing the authentic access that defines our journeys.

Credentials: Ph.D. in Maritime Southeast Asian History, Leiden University; Published author on the VOC and the Spice Trade; Member of the Masyarakat Sejarawan Indonesia (MSI).
Bio: Dr. Arief brings the history of the Spice Islands to life. A respected academic and captivating storyteller, he leads our signature historical tours, providing unparalleled context to the forts, plantations, and colonial architecture of Banda Neira. Credentials: M.Sc. in Marine Conservation, James Cook University; Certified PADI Divemaster; Former project manager for The Nature Conservancy (TNC) Indonesia.
Bio: Lestari spearheads our commitment to responsible tourism. She develops and manages our conservation partnerships, community empowerment projects, and environmental policies. She works closely with our marine partners to ensure all diving and snorkeling activities adhere to the highest standards of reef protection and collaborates with local villages on waste management and education initiatives.
